Family Day Weekend Hours at Central Library

Central Library will be open regular hours on Sunday, February 17 (1-4pm) and will be closed on Monday, February 18 for Family Day.  Branch locations are closed on Sundays and Mondays.

On Saturday, February 16, from 9am to 3pm at Central Library, enjoy musical performances, talks, a film screening and activities exploring London's musical heritage at this year's Heritage Fair. Find the schedule and list of events here.

On Sunday, February 17, you're invited to join us for a special Family Day event in celebration of Black History Month. This celebration takes place on the main floor of Central Library from 1:30-3:30pm and is free. All are welcome! Enjoy performances, Limbo dancing, music, crafts, games and more. See details below:Performers include, in order:

•Forbehn - Violin performance and opening anthem
•Carl - Drumming performance
•Willy - Rap performance
•Fauzia - Spoken word performance
•Shanelle - Singing performance

Following these performances, it is time for the Limbo contest with our host, DJ RedLobsta. You can learn and practice using our custom made limbo bar before the competition. The winner will get a Family pass admission to the Children's Museum!

Free activities include:
•Hair braiding (courtesy of a local Beauty school)
•Kente paper craft activity
•Interactive Instrument activity with the Children's Museum
•Games - including the traditional African board game - Mancala
•Dotsy Balloon twisting from 2:30-3:30pm

This event takes place on the main floor of Central Library and the Children's Library. For those driving, 2 hours parking validation is provided for Citi Plaza underground parking. Bring your ticket to the front desk of the Library during open hours.

This event is presented in partnership with the London Black History Coordinating Committee and London Children's Museum.
