Construction on Sherwood Branch Library started at the end of January 2025 and is expected to take 6-8 months to complete. We hope to be open by the end of this summer!
Throughout the project, you will continue to be able to pick up your holds and return your items. A small Pop-Up Library will be available onsite for most of the project, with short closures at the beginning and end of the project.

Sherwood Pop-Up Library Moves - No After Hours Returns
Starting April 22, 2025, Sherwood’s Pop Up Library will move into a small space in front of the Library in the Mall as construction proceeds inside the Library.
New Pop Up Library Hours:
Tuesday-Saturday, 9am-5pm
Available:
- Holds Pick Up
- Computer, Printer, Photocopier
Not Available:
- No after hours returns (no return chute). Return during Pop Up Library hours or to another location
- No browsing collection. Place holds for pick up.
Sherwood Branch Library is a vital hub for a vibrant community. This renovation will ensure we can provide the spaces and services that meet the evolving needs of a growing community.
The transformation of Sherwood Branch Library will include:

About Sherwood Library
Sherwood Branch Library, London Public Library’s 13th Branch Library, opened in the Sherwood Forest Mall in May, 1985. Sherwood serves a population of approximately 36,390 in London’s North West (Ward 7), a large area with diverse communities. In 2023, there were more than 140,000 visits to Sherwood, with more than 164,000 items borrowed. With many schools located within walking distance, Sherwood is a community hub for children, families and youth, who often visit the Library on a daily basis. Popular programs at Sherwood Branch include afterschool clubs and the Library Settlement Partnership program in partnership with the Northwest London Resource Centre, along with many programs for seniors, young families and youth. The renovation of Sherwood Branch Library will help these programs grow and thrive and will create a destination that the North West community will feel proud of and that will strengthen a sense of community belonging.

During construction, a small Pop Up Library will be available at Sherwood Branch, in Meeting Room B. To get to the Pop Up Library, use the Library's front entrance from the Mall and proceed down the Library hall to the Meeting Room at the end, on your left.

Dates to be confirmed - currently projected to re-open in early Fall.
There will be a short period of time (approximately 6 weeks) at the end of the renovation project during which the Pop Up Library will be removed and the final work to re-open the Library will require all staff. For this period of time, no Library services will be available.
