History

Site of the terminus for the South-Western Traction Line which connected London to Post Stanley via Lambeth and St. Thomas. It served as an electrified commuter and freight service. This inter-urban line used the innovative Ganz system, the only such operation in Canada at the time. Service was suspended in 15 October 1918 owing to competition from the London and Port Stanley Railway and the automobile.
