What is included in the Contemporary London Authors Collection
The Contemporary London Authors Collection includes books written/illustrated by creators currently living within the London, Ontario City limits that meet the following criteria:
- Written in English or French
- Published in print within the last 2 years
- Assigned an isbn (international standard book number)
The Contemporary London Authors Collection does not currently include:
- Works by visiting authors or temporary residents (except book-length works of authors designated as writer-in-residence at a London institution, which are eligible for inclusion if the work is written during the residency)
- Works published only in digital format
- Works translated from or into languages other than English and French
London Public Library retains the right to make exceptions to any of the above guidelines.
How to submit your work
We purchase our print materials from Library Bound, a Canadian library wholesaler. If your book is not already listed in their database, you should contact them about having it added so that libraries can purchase it. It is a fairly quick and easy process and you can find more information on their page for self-published authors and small presses: http://www.librarybound.com/contact/self-published-section
Once your book is listed there, please email info@lpl.ca with the following information: book title, author, and isbn, and we will order a copy for our Contemporary London Authors Collection.

The Contemporary London Authors collection is a circulating collection of books written by London, Ontario authors. The collection is located at the Central Library on the Second Floor.

You are currently living within the London, Ontario City limits. Visiting authors or temporary residents are not eligible for inclusion.
Your printed monographs (books) have been assigned an isbn (international standard book number) and were published within the last 2 years. Only one copy of the book will be included.
Book-length works of authors designated as writer-in-residence at a London institution are eligible for inclusion if the work is written during the residency.
Authors whose works have only been published digitally are not eligible for inclusion.
The book has been written in French or English. Translations from or into other languages are not eligible at the present time.
London Public Library retains the right to make exceptions to any of the above guidelines.
