Do you have an interest in researching and sharing the story of London's heritage? The London Public Library Board has a vacancy on its volunteer Historic Sites Committee and is inviting applications from the community.

The Historic Sites Committee researches historic buildings, places and people of local significance, and shares this research with the community through on-site commemorative plaques, research archives held in the Ivey Family London Room at Central Library and through the Library's website.

Committee membership involves attending five Committee meetings each year (currently scheduled from approximately 5 – 6:15 pm on a Wednesday at Central Library/ or hybrid), supporting the Committee at plaquing events, and being involved in researching and learning more about the people, places and stories from London's past.

We request a minimum two year commitment to reflect the lengthy research and plaque installation planning timelines.

Applications are welcome from all interested candidates. We encourage applications that will ensure that this Committee represents the diversity of the population that we serve.

Interested candidates are asked to apply by sending a resume and brief expression of interest (including applicable experience and interest in the committee) by December 6, 2023 to the Chair, London Public Library Board c/o diana.bumstead@lpl.ca
