You can choose a machine based on your needs.
Internet Station
- Available for up to 120 minutes per day
- Log on with your Library card number & PIN
- Browse the Internet, watch video content, check e-mail, play games
- All computers operate on Windows 10
- Available software includes: Office 2010 Suite, Open Office, Adobe Reader, and Chrome, Firefox & Microsoft Edge web browsers
- Print from the Internet, e-mail or USB
- Save documents to a USB flash drive
- Limited staff assistance is available
Library Service Station
- Search the Library Catalogue and Information Databases
- View your Library Account
- Place holds
Accessories
USB drives and headphones can be purchased for use on Library workstations.
Printing, Photocopying, & Scanning
Black and white printing or photocopying is now 25 cents per page. Colour printing or photocopying is now 50 cents per page.
Users can print in black and white from Library computers at all locations; colour printing is available from computers at the Central Library.
Printing from USB drives and scanning of documents can be done using Library photocopiers; documents can be scanned and printed in both colour and black and white.
Photocopiers can print documents saved as PDF, JPG, TIFF, or MS Office files (DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, etc.); PDF files are preferred.
- To use a USB with the photocopiers the drive must have a capacity smaller than 64GB and be formatted to FAT32.
Users can print directly from their own laptops, tablets, or smartphones using Wireless Printing. See instructions below.
We no longer offer the Print From Home service that was available during the Pandemic closures.
How to print from your device at the Library
Wireless Printing Instructions
- Under Settings, connect your mobile device to our wifi: LondonPublicLibrary-“Library Branch”
- Open a browser and type: print.lpl.ca
- Login with your library card and PIN (Don’t have a library card? Ask the helpdesk staff for help!)
- Click Upload
- Select your file to upload
- Under Print options, select number of copies, choose Black/White or Colour, etc.
- When the document is processed, head to the Print Release Station and login
- Insert coin(s) or tap card to pay for your print job
- Select your document and click Print
Accessibility
Accessible computers, with specialized software and hardware for blind and low-vision users, are available at the following locations:
- Central
- Cherryhill
- East London
- Jalna
Available accessibility software includes:
- JAWS for Windows - reads onscreen text aloud, navigate through documents using keyboard shortcuts instead of a mouse
- Kurzweil 1000 - converts scanned text into speech and reads it aloud
- Braille Blaster - converts text files into Braille
- ZoomText - computer screen magnification software (all Library locations)
- Windows Default Accessibility Tools - Magnifier, On-Screen Keyboard and Narrator

Optelec ClearView video magnifier - electronic device that uses a camera and a screen to make text and photos easier to see by increasing magnification and contrast (Central, Cherryhill, East London)

Volunteer Tech Tutors
Need help with computer basics or using Word, Excel, PowerPoint or email? Volunteer Tech Tutors are available at scheduled times at various locations. Check the schedule and call to confirm.
Digitization Technology
Discovered a box of negatives or photographic slides? Preserve your photos or watch old family movies using the digitization technology available to use for free in The Labs at Central Library. Here you’ll find a variety of digitization tools to convert analog media, including audio cassettes, VHS cassettes, slide film, negatives, photographs, 8mm tape, and audio cassettes.
The Labs also offers a 3D printing service!
