Visiting Library Service

Your Library. Delivered to your door.

London Public Library provides this free service to eligible residents of London who, for reasons of restricted vision, mobility, or long-term illness are unable to use regular library facilities. Seasonal service is also available with delivery during the winter months only.

Available Collections and Resources

A wide selection of fiction and non-fiction, from classics to the latest bestsellers, are available in both hardcover and paperback. You will be able to access the diverse collections of the entire London Public Library system (magazines, compact discs, as well as commercially-produced Books-on-CD) via your home delivery.

In addition, a variety of special formats are also available:

Complete, unabridged books with clear, larger, high-contrast type.

Full-length, non-dramatized recordings of books on compact disc (DAISY). Talking books are produced by non-commercial organizations such as the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) for the exclusive use of individuals who cannot read printed materials.

A limited number are available for short-term loan, for use with Talking Books.

For library patrons with print disabilities, we can help to register you for CELA membership. Please contact Visiting Library for more information.

Frequently Asked Questions

The items you receive each month are due to be returned on the date of your next delivery. This time period is usually 4 weeks.

Please notify us one week in advance of your delivery if you have any items that you need more time to finish. Remember, renewals are not always possible because your item might be on hold for another patron. Where this is the case, the material must be returned on your next delivery day. Visiting Library staff will be glad to replace these items on hold for you so that you can receive them again at a later date.

Visiting Library patrons are not charged fines for materials returned late. However, when items are lost or damaged, you will be billed for their replacement cost. (If you later return lost items to any London Public Library branch, charges will be removed or refunded.)

If you need to suspend your service due to vacation or illness, or you have a change of address, please contact us with details.
